When someone asks AI who to use, does your name come up?
A growing share of buyers now ask an assistant before they ever open a search results page — and they act on the three or four names it gives them. If you are not one of those names, you are not being outranked. You are not in the room.
You cannot buy your way into an answer. You have to be the source it is built from.
There is no ad slot inside a generated answer. What an assistant does instead is assemble a response from sources it can find, parse and trust — then name a handful of them. Being one of those sources is the whole game, and it is won on evidence rather than on spend.
The discipline goes by several names and they all mean roughly the same thing: answer engine optimisation (AEO), generative engine optimisation (GEO), or simply AI search visibility. We call it AI chat optimisation because it is what clients say when they call — but if you arrived here searching for AEO or GEO, this is the page you wanted.
That work is concrete. It means being described consistently enough across the web that a model resolves you as one entity rather than three. It means publishing answers to real buyer questions in a form that can be lifted and quoted. It means the structured data, the third-party references and the review corpus that make a model confident enough to put your name in front of someone.
It is also measurable, which is the part most people assume it is not. We track what the major assistants actually say when asked the questions your buyers ask — who gets named, who gets cited, and how that changes as the work lands.
We don’t have a published case study for this yet. It’s a newer part of what we do, and we’d rather say that than dress up someone else’s result as it.
What we can do is show you where you stand right now — we’ll run the questions your buyers ask across the major assistants and send you back what they actually say.

Named in the answer
Visibility in the place a growing share of buyers now form their shortlist, before they have visited anyone’s website.
Described accurately
Assistants confidently repeat whatever they find. Fixing what they currently get wrong about you is often the fastest win on this list.
Evidence instead of assertion
A tracked list of the prompts that matter and what each assistant says in response — so you can see the position move rather than take it on trust.
Work that also helps you rank
Entity clarity, structured data and citations are the same foundations classical SEO runs on. Nothing here is spent twice.

How we approach AI visibility
- 01
Baseline
We ask the assistants the questions your buyers ask, and record what they say today — who gets named, who gets cited, and what they get wrong about you. Without that baseline nothing afterwards is provable.
- 02
Make yourself legible
Entity, schema and crawler-access work so a model can resolve who you are, what you do and where you operate — consistently, across every place it looks.
- 03
Publish the answers
Content built around the real questions, structured so a passage can be lifted and quoted directly rather than summarised into someone else’s sentence.
- 04
Earn the citations
Digital PR, third-party references and review signals — the corroboration that decides whether a model is confident enough to name you at all.
- 05
Re-ask and report
We re-run the same prompts on a schedule and report the movement. Models change often, so this is a maintained position rather than a finished project.
Questions people ask us
If yours isn’t here, ask us directly — we’ll give you a straight answer, including when the answer is that we’re not the right fit.
Is this the same thing as AEO or GEO?
Yes. Answer engine optimisation, generative engine optimisation and AI search visibility are all names for this work, and the industry has not settled on one of them. We say "AI chat optimisation" because it is what clients say when they call, but if you have a brief that asks for AEO or GEO, this is the service that answers it.
Is this just SEO with a new name?
It shares foundations with SEO and we will say so plainly rather than sell you the same work twice. What differs is the target and the measurement: the goal is being named and cited inside a generated answer, not holding a position in a list, and it is measured by asking the assistants rather than by reading a rank tracker. If we are already doing your SEO, this is an extension of it and priced as one.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend us?
No. Nobody can, and anyone who does is selling you something. Model behaviour changes without notice and there is no slot to buy. What we commit to is a baseline, a plan, a tracked set of prompts and honest reporting on the movement — including when there is none.
How do you actually measure this?
We agree a set of prompts that mirror how your buyers ask, run them across the major assistants on a schedule, and record who is named, who is cited and how you are described. That gives a trend line rather than a single reading, which matters because any one answer will vary.
Do you have a case study for this?
Not a published one yet — this is a newer part of what we do and we would rather tell you that than dress up someone else’s result as it. What we can show you is the SEO and reputation work the discipline is built on, and a live read of where you currently stand inside the assistants, which is usually the more persuasive thing anyway.
Should we be blocking AI crawlers instead?
That is a real decision with a real trade-off, and the right answer differs for a publisher and for a services business. We will walk you through what each crawler does, what blocking costs you in visibility, and make a recommendation rather than a default.
